Make Backspace in Windows 7 or Vista Explorer Go Up like XP Did

One of the biggest annoyances for those going straight from XP to Windows 7 is that the backspace key no longer moves you Up a folder like it used to—now it moves you Back in the folder browsing history. If you’ve used the key a couple of times, you might think I’m wrong—but you can easily test it out by going into one subfolder, then hitting Back, then going into another subfolder and hitting Back, then going into a third subfolder and hitting Back twice. You’ll end up in the previous subfolder. If you want to go Up a folder in either Windows 7 or Vista, you can use the Alt+Up shortcut key, which will always go to the parent folder. Tesco iPhone available from 14 December

Tesco Mobile has announced that it will be stocking the iPhone 3GS from next week, from the 14 December. It’s a slightly different price structure to the normal iPhone deals handed out by O2 and Orange. The new phone will be available on both PAYG and contract deals, with the price for the pre-pay version starting at £342 for the iPhone 3G 8GB version and heading up to £538 for the 32GB iteration of the 3GS. And on the contract side of things, a 12 month deal will cost you £20 per month, with ‘unlimited’ web and Wi-Fi

Deals.Woot Launches, Crowdsources Thriftiness

The guys and gals at Woot have added another portal to their stable of daily deal sites . The deals.woot site is a bit of a departure for Woot. All their preexisting sites feature a product chosen by Woot employees, but deals.woot is a user driven site akin to a Digg for bargain shopping.   Woot has made waves in the tech/geek community by offering a daily deal, which is sometimes an insanely good value. More recently, Woot has expanded to various specialized portals like shirt.woot, wine.woot, and sellout.woot.
