Google brings Street View to Winter Olympics

Google has unveiled its Street View for the Winter Olympics that begin this Friday in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. The Street View gallery covers the venues for many of the events at the Winter Olympics, ranging from cross-country skiing to the luge to, er, curling. Users can find the sites on Google maps at the click of a button. Rather than using the Google car or bicycle equipped with a camera, for this the team used a special snowmobile. The collaboration between Google and the Olympics committee was announced last November.

Alienware M11x Gaming Notebook Release Date Bumped Up Along with Price

Just about everything you could want to know about Alienware’s M11x ’sorta-netbook’ has been leaked to the Web , including when the 11.6-inch notebook is supposed to launch. It looks as though the M11x will land first in Japan this Friday, February 5th, and then in Malaysia sometime later this month. According to a leaked slide, Dell has decided to bump up the price from $799 to $899, putting the M11x further away from traditional netbook territory.

Another Friday and only a a few more hours until weekend freedom! Instead of staring at the clock and agonizing how time is moving slow, play a fun flash game to pass the hours. Today we take a look at Uphill Rush which is a fun racing game where you can race on different vehicles. Uphill Rush It is a basic flash game where at the main screen you can choose the video quality, turn sound on and off, learn how to play…etc. At first you can select between a a motorcycle, skateboard, or 4 wheeler…monster trucks and special cups are locked until you get high scores with the available ones first. You can race on the skateboard against the clock or an opponent…score points by completing tricks and jumps.

Sony Reader Store Goes All EPUB This Week

Sony announced a few changes to its e-book business, including a new name. Starting December 11th (this Friday), Sony’s eBook Store will become the Reader Store, complete with a new URL – http://readerstore.sony.com . While the name will change, Sony says all current features will remain the same. In addition to the name change, Sony also announced plans to fully embrace the EPUB format. “As part of our commitment to providing an open format solution to our customers, we will now offer our entire inventory of eBooks in the EPUB format,” Sony said.
