It can be very annoying when you have a bunch of different projects open at work, then find you need restart the machine because of Microsoft Updates or some other reason. Today we take a look at a cool free app that will restart everything you were working on after a reboot. CacheMyWork CacheMyWork is a handy free utility that is light on system resources and will open everything you were working on after a restart. Many times the culprit is automatic updates that download and install automatically while you have a full screen of work opened up

Are you looking for a note-taking app that can easily send notes to your e-mail account and stay out of your way? Then join us as we take a look at Scribbly. Getting Started During the install process you will be asked if you would like to have a “Desktop Shortcut” set up and if you would like to have Scribbly start immediately after installation. Notice that the “Installation Location” points towards “Program Files” but does show a folder for the app itself…though it is your choice you should go ahead and designate/create a new folder for Scribbly. Note: Scribbly requires Adobe AIR (link provided at bottom of article)

If you use the Compressed Folders built into Windows to create zip files, you might have noticed that it creates the file with the same name as the selected file, which gets weird when you select multiple files. Here’s how to make it choose the right name. Basically, Windows is going to use the filename for whichever file that you right-clicked over, even when you have multiple files selected. The trick is just to choose the right one. For example, if I’ve selected all the files and right-click over Readme.txt, then use Send To –> Compressed Folder… The file created will be Readme.zip.

The new Taskbar in Windows 7 is a great new feature, but sometimes you might have too many apps and not enough room. Today we take a look at Jumplist Launcher that allows you to consolidate the app launchers on the Taskbar. Using Jumplist Launcher Jumplist Launcher doesn’t require installation and you can run it directly from your hard drive or a flash drive and launch the executable. After launching it you’re presented with a configuration dialog screen to begin setting up your jump lists. You can create different Groups and name them to suite your needs.

Mouse Extender is a free utility that allows you to navigate through Windows easier. Mouse Extender This handy utility doesn’t require installation and can be run from a flash drive. After you launch it, you can start building it up with different apps and other items. Right-click to access a context menu where you can add new tabs, files, web sites, and more.
