New concept photos of the iPhone 4G have emerged – with some cool new touches we think might actually make it to the final version. The new concepts by Seraphan includes some well-thought out ideas – imagine being able to pick up the iPhone in a whole gamut of colours a la the iPod nano. OK, we’re not sure it’s that important in tech terms, but the pictures still look pretty, so we’re taking that as a positive. Ins and outs Some ideas from the artist we think are likely to make the final iPhone 4G cut, such as a flash on the camera and porting the iPad interface to the mobile phone side of things

Apple is laying the groundwork for a cloud-based iTunes Store which will not only hold music – as previously reported – but movies too. According to CNET the fruit-based company is in discussion with movie studios to allow video content to be stored in the cloud for its upcoming iTunes service. The idea of iTunes being in the cloud is an obvious one in today’s on-the-go web-reliant world. Through Wi-Fi or 3G you would access your content on the cloud-based service and not worry about the mountains of disk-space needed for storing movie content on your iPod/iPhone/iPad. In the cloud The problem that Apple seems to be facing is that movie execs aren’t happy with the company’s normal walled garden approach – they want a cloud-based site to be accessible from non-Apple products

Back when you were little your mom told you not to stick things in your ears. You might want to rethink mom’s advice when it comes to Klipsch’s new Image S4 and S4i earbuds, which are right now making their way into retail outlets . Klipsch’s new beauties come in either black or white, and feature dynamic moving coil micro speakers with a frequency response of 10Hz to 19kHz, a sensitivity of 110db SPL/mw, and a nominal impedance of 18 Ohms. Drive components consist of full range KG 25s. Each has a noise isolation rating of -16

Apple has always been a “my way or the highway” type of company, but its recently declared war on “sexy apps” in the application store has been making developers rather nervous. The most frustrating part for developers that had their applications pulled wasn’t just that their lively hood was in jeopardy, but it was the simple fact that they had no idea what Apple considered as “adult”. This is a question App Store developer Jon Atherton has addressed on his blog, and the list of reasons why his Wobble application has been pulled is pretty draconian . 1

Steve Ballmer announced Windows Phone 7 Series (Windows Mobile 7 to you and me) and promised some big changes – but has the overhaul worked? Ballmer apparently pushed the development of the platform back by some time in order to get it to the point he felt it could compete with the incumbent dominant platforms (such as the iPhone OS and Android). To that end, with Windows Phone 7 Series we get a radically overhauled UI, capacitive-only touchscreens with hi-res WVGA (800×48 pixel count) displays and multi-touch throughout. We got some hands on time with the new operating system, and we were pretty impressed with the platform despite it being in its infancy

It’s here. Well, it will be later in the year, anyway. Windows Phone 7 Series was launched today by Steve Ballmer here at Mobile World Congress. Now that we’ve digested all there is to know about Microsoft’s new smartphone OS, here are the essential facts you need to know. Oh, and our hands-on with the new OS won’t be far away.

Being a PC enthusiast and a gadget nerd go pretty much hand in hand, but have you ever wondered what it actually cost the manufacturers to assemble your army of iPod’s and book reader’s? Well wonder no longer because marketing research group iSuppli and Business Week have teamed up to tear down over 25 popular gadgets and have come up with what they consider a pretty accurate ball park picture of the manufacturing costs. Some of the results appear to be a bit out of date, particularly when it comes to the consoles, but it still gives a pretty good overview of how much money each product is raking in. As you would expect most gaming consoles continue to sell at a loss, but many of the popular new smart phones actually make a fair bit of money when you factor in the kickbacks they probably get from the carriers

Adobe has announced that it has received a huge number of download requests for Flash on the iPhone OS platform. The software developer said that in December alone it saw seven million requests for Flash for the iPod touch and iPhone, highlighting the desire for it from consumers (who presumably aren’t familiar with the ongoing saga between the two companies). While Apple and Adobe said they would be collaborating on Flash video for the iPhone in the future that promise is still to be realised, with relations between the companies seemingly getting worse. “It’s your fault… no it’s YOUR fault” Steve Jobs apparently called Adobe ‘lazy’ for not making a less buggy version of the platform for the iPhone and iPad.

I don’t care what you use BitTorrent for. I don’t even want to know. What you download is your own business. That said, don’t even think about coming in the comments with a “omg check out this awesome freeware Pirate Bay scanning app it helped me download all the copies of My Little Pony in like no time whatsoever.” Not cool.

The toughest part about going green (as in, environmentally friendly) is that energy saving devices and technologies often cost a a lot of green (as in greenbacks, dinero, cash, money, ducats, pieces of eight, and for you old school adventure gamers, buckazoids). So what’s our point? Well, Schosche’s lower priced solBAT II solar backup device is a pretty big deal .
