Onkyo Debuts DE411 AIO Desktop with Nvidia’s Ion GPU

When you think of Onkyo, you probably picture surround sound receivers and other home theater accessories, but as it turns out, the company also dabbles in home PCs. Once of those includes the just-announced DE411 all-in-one desktop. A pretty impressive PC on paper, the DE411 boasts a 21.5-inch 1080p Full HD display. Inside the sleek looking AIO sits a dual-core Intel Atom 330 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, Nvidia’s GeForce 9400M Ion graphics, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. You’ll also find a DVD burner, digital TV tuner, 5W speakers, Wi-Fi, multiformat memory card reader, and a handful of USB 2.0 ports.

Review: Yamaha RX-V2065

There comes a time in the development life cycle of electronic equipment where things get a bit, well, Terminator. Your electronics get ideas of their own and start ordering you about. For instance, Yamaha’s RX -V2065 receiver suggested, in no uncertain terms, that I leave the room while it sets itself up. Yikes

Onkyo unveils THX-toting BD-SP807 Blu-ray player

Onkyo has announced that the arrival of its latest high-end Blu-ray player – the BD-SP807. Packing a massive audio punch, the Blu-ray setup has been THX-certified and brings, according to Onkyo, a bit of ‘cinematic excellence’ to the home. This means that it allows bitstream output of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential soundtracks and, for those using analogue audio, there’s 7.1-channel analogue outputs on-board. The BD-SP807 also sports realistic HD video quality, courtesy of a state-of-the-art 297Mhz/12-bit video DAC from Analog Devices, and offers 1080p upscaling via its ABT1030 Video Reference Series chip

Onkyo Selling DX Dual-Screen Laptop for Under $1000

We have to admit, this is getting a little ridiculous (in a good way). Not only are 17-inch notebooks routinely checking in at well under a $1,000, but thanks to Onkyo, you can now buy a dual-screen laptop for less than 10 Benjamins. These aren’t ginormous screens, mind you, but Onkyo’s DX laptop packs two, 10.1-inch screens each running at 1366 x 768. Not earth shattering, but should be enough to satiate mobile warriors looking to extend their desktop beyond what’s typically been possible

Review: Onkyo DS-A3

Onkyo has just announced the first affordable digital iPod dock, the Onkyo DS-A3. so are analogue docks now redundant? Not according to Onkyo’s representative, to whom we put that exact question. He pointed out, reasonably enough, that not everyone will have a digital input available, nor will they want to buy a separate DAC just for an iPod. Accordingly, this dock is optimised for extracting the most from an iPod’s analogue output
