Samsung, the famed Korean jack-of-all-technologies, is having another go at mastering the Android phone scene, after making a bit of a mess of it with last year’s original Galaxy. Seriously, there are petitions all over the place. Some men are still very angry about it all

MSN Video Player has been a big enough success through a pilot scheme to be launched as a major new product, and Microsoft is not ruling out offering the service to television manufacturers, on Xbox and through the forthcoming Windows Phone 7 Series. A million people have already used the ad-funded and free MSN Video Player in beta to watch full-length programmes, trailers and clips, enough of an audience to convince the portal that the service has the appeal to become a key asset for Microsoft. With users staying for an average of 25 minutes – far more than major catch-up services like ITV Player and 4OD – and advertisers champing at the bit to buy up pre-roll adverts before the features, Microsoft has now sealed deals with the likes of Endemol and Shed Media to expand their offering further. Thousand hours “We are expanding our catalogue to over 1,000 hours,” explained MSN’s Rob Crossen. “We’ve signed a number of new deals…we’ve gone out there and sourced content that appeals to our audience.

WordPress is the world’s #1 publishing platform. Today’s web designers, from beginners to seasoned pros, are picking WordPress to get the job done. Nvidia has been pretty tight lipped when it comes to Fermi’s performance numbers, but as the March 26th launch date approaches, a few additional details are starting to leak out. This time it’s a video documenting some early benchmarks , giving us our first real peak at Fermi’s performance. Of course we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that the Heaven benchmark utility demonstrated in the video was administered solely by Nvidia themselves, and as such, the results should be taken with a grain of salt until we’ve had our own opportunity to put it through its paces. The demo shows the GTX 480 pushing out some pretty impressive frame rates, even besting the ATI 5870 results they claim to have run earlier, but it certainly doesn’t look like as big a margin as we were hoping for. The GTX 480 as you might recall is going to be the companies new high end offering, and although no pricing has yet been announced, rumors have put it somewhere in the $700 USD range

In an exclusive interview with .net , posted earlier this week on the magazine’s website, Stephen Fry explained that he wields so much power though his Twitter account that he can bring down a site with a single tweet. “When I tweet a link it usually gets around two or three thousand requests a second,” he noted. “Especially if I word it in a way where I really want people to go to a site.” Don’t believe him? Well, .net found out the hard way when the Fry posted a link on his Twitter page to the video interview, simply explaining: “Lordy. I’d forgotten I did this.” Minutes later and a few screams from the .net crew – we should know as the mag is part of the TechRadar group – the site was down, proving that Fry has taken the baton from Slashdot when it comes to bringing down sites with a single link
